Friend of the Asian American Psychological Association Award

AAPA will recognize the outstanding achievements of an individual or organization outside of psychology that has benefited the Asian American community through his/her advocacy or community service work.

This award is designated for individuals or organizations whose efforts have directly related to improving mental health services to Asian Americans, or educated the public on socio-psychological issues facing Asian Americans.  The Friend of AAPA Award is not limited to lifetime achievements, but individual efforts must be considered outstanding.

The award recipient must be able to attend the AAPA Convention Annual Award dinner in August to receive the award and give a formal address to the membership. Announcement of the winner of the award will be made by July 1st and publicized through the Asian American and psychology media outlets (e.g., Asia Week, APA, AAPA newsletter). A plaque will be presented to the award recipient at the annual AAPA Convention in August.
